Hampi is a city of temples derived from Pampa. Pampa is the old name of the Tungabhadra River. Hampi is situated on the banks of this river. Vittala swamy temple -
Vitthalaswamy's temple is the highest in Hampi. It is a symbol of the glory of Vijayanagar and the climax of Kalavabhava. The etching of the Kalyanamandap of the temple is so subtle and dense that it is made on sight. The inner part of the temple is 55 feet long. And in the middle of it there is a high altar. The chariot of the Vitthal god is cut out of only one stone. The lower part of the temple is etched all over.
Virupaksha temple -
Virupaksha Temple, also known as Pampapati Temple, is located in the lower part of the Hemkuta hills. This is one of the main attractions of Hampi. Gopuda was built by Krishnadeva Raya in 1509 at the time of his consecration. This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. There are many small temples inside this huge temple which are even older than the Virupaksha temple. There is a huge stone Nandi in the east of the temple while on the south side there is a huge statue of Lord Ganesha. Here is a 6.7 meter high statue of Narasimha.
Lakshmi narasimha temple -
Lakshmi Narasimha Temple or Ugra Narasimha Temple is made of large rocks, it is the tallest statue of Hampi. It is about 6.7 meters high. Narasimha is seated on the throne. In fact, there is a small picture of Lakshmi on one knee of the idol, which faded away during the invasion of Vijayanagara Empire.
Hazara Rama Temple
It is a ruin temple which has been given great importance in Hindu theology. This temple is known for digging the inscriptions of the ancient story of Ramayana.
Kamal Mahal is adjacent to Hazara Ram Temple. This palace is a mixed form of Indo-Islamic style. It is said that women of royal families living around the Queen's palace used to come here for fun. The arches of the palace are very attractive.
Raghunath swamy temple -
The Malayavanta Raghunathaswamy Temple is built in the ancient Indian style of architecture. The Malayavanta Raghunathaswamy Temple is built 3 kilometers below the ground. The interior walls have a strange appearance and fish and marine artifacts have also been made.
