Significance of Nakshatra

When we split Nakshatra into two syllables i.e, "Naksha"(map) and "tara”(star) is known as Nakshatra (Star Map). According to the Indian ancient Vedic seers, the 27 Nakshatras (constellations) map the sky. 'Nakshatras' is the name of the constellations or as the Moon remains in each of these constellations for one day.
