The Importance of the Nine Planets (Navagrahas)

In Vedic astrology, the Navagrahas have significant effects on everyone's life. Each planet represents both positive and negative aspects and moves through the twelve zodiac signs in a specific time period, bringing major effects on each zodiac sign.

According to astrology, the sun is related to authority, fame, and the father. Moon governs emotions and the mother. Mars symbolises courage, energy, and anger.  Mercury represents speech, intelligence, and communication. Jupiter influences wisdom, education, and children. Venus is related to wealth, beauty, and luxury. Saturn (Shani) is known as the giver of karma and justice. Rahu represents illusion, confusion, and worldly desires. Ketu symbolises detachment, spirituality, and liberation.

Mercury Retrograde 2025

Mercury is associated with intellect and communication, which has transited into Scorpio on 24 October. Mercury changes its zodiac signs every 23 to 30 days. According to the calendar, Mercury will turn retrograde on 10 November 2025, and in retrograde motion, it will move into Libra on 23 November 2025 at 7:58 PM. On 29 November 2025, it will turn direct (Margi) and re-enter Scorpio on 6 December at 8:52 PM.

Apart from their regular transit, planets in astrology have four key motions.

• Retrograde (Vakri): When a planet seems to move backwards, it is known as Retrograde motion.

• Combust (Asta): When a planet comes too close to the Sun and loses its strength or powers.

• Direct (Margi): A planet turns into its regular motion is called direct (Margi).
