The name of Lord Shri Krishna is always taken with Radha Ji. The festival of Radha Ashtami is celebrated 15 days after Krishna Janmashtami. According to the Hindu calendar, Radha Ashtami is celebrated on the Ashtami day of Bhadrapada. This year Radha Ashtami will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 14. It is believed that the worship of Lord Krishna is incomplete without Radha Rani. That is why the name of Radha Rani is taken together with the name of Lord Krishna. Like the festival of Krishna Janmashtami, Radha Ashtami is also celebrated with pomp.
Significance of Radha Ashtami-
Like Janmashtami, Radha Ashtami has special significance. It is said that fasting on Radha Ashtami destroys all sins. On this day married women keep a fast for the happiness of children and for the attainment of unbroken good fortune. According to mythology, Lord Krishna is automatically pleased by those who please Radha. It is said that by observing the fast, Goddess Lakshmi comes to the house and their wishes are fulfilled.
Retire from bathing in the morning. After this, make a circle under the mandap and install a clay or copper urn in its central part.
Keep a copper vessel on the Kalash.
Now install a gold (if possible) idol of Radhaji decorated with clothes and ornaments on this pot.
After that worship Radhaji with Shodashopachar.
Keep in mind that the time of worship should be exactly midday.
After worship, observe complete fasting or take one meal at a time.
On the second day, according to the reverence, feed the married women and Brahmins and give them Dakshina.
