According to the scriptures, the pictures of ancestors should not be placed with the picture of God. This increases inauspiciousness in the house. According to Vastu Shastra, by placing the picture of ancestors in the right direction, grace remains in the family and the members of the house are benefitted.

Do not put the picture of ancestors in such a place where your eyes cross, again and again, it can cause trouble for you. You can place the picture of ancestors in the south direction of the hall or main living room of the house.

Do not put up pictures of ancestors with that of the family-
According to Vastu, putting the picture of ancestors with that of any alive family member of the house is inauspicious. It is believed that the living person with whom the picture of ancestors is attached harms them. While putting the picture of ancestors, there should be wooden cardboard support so that the picture can be seen either hanging or swinging.
