According to Hindu calendar or panchang, the Amavasya of Vaishakh month this year is on Tuesday, May 11. This year, three special Yogs are falling on the occasion of Vaishakh Amavasya, hence it is very important. It is also called Bhumavati Amavasya as it is falling on Tuesday. When it falls on a Monday, it is called Somavati Amavasya. Amavasya has special importance in Hindu religion. On this day, there is a saying and practice of bathing in the holy river(Ganges), performing shraadh karma and giving charity in the name of the ancestors.

According to the Hindu Panchang, the Amavasya Tithi of the month of Vaishakh starts on Monday, May 10 at 09:55 am, which is on Tuesday, May 11,  and it will last till 12:29 pm. This means it will be on , Vaishakh Amavasya is on 11 May.
Three special yogs on Vaishakh Amavasya
This year, two special Yogs are being made on the day of Vaishakha Amavasya. They are Saubhagya Yoga and Shobhan Yoga are being formed. On May 11, Saubhagya Yoga night will be at 10.43 pm after that Shobhan Yoga will be done. Apart from this, Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga is also being made. From 11 o'clock at 31 o'clock on the night of May 11, the next day on May 12, at 05 o'clock in the morning till 32 o'clock, the Siddhi Yoga will remain. All these three yogas are important. Saubhagya yog is a factor in increasing luck, Shobhana yoga provides auspiciousness.

Vaishakh amavasya bath
