Mokshada Ekadashi 2021: Reciting This Fast Story On Mokshada Ekadashi Gives Salvation

Each Ekadashi Tithi has a different significance and Vishnu is worshiped on each Ekadashi Tithi. Ekadashi Tithi comes twice in every month, one in Krishna Paksha and one in Shukla Paksha. Thus there are at least 24 Ekadashi in a year.

Ekadashi falling in the Shukla Paksha of Margashirsha month is called Mokshada Ekadashi. Ekadashi is considered a day dedicated to Lord Shri Hari Vishnu. It is believed that by observing this Ekadashi fast, a person attains salvation after death. This time Mokshada Ekadashi is falling on 14th December.

Ekadashi date ends - December 14 till 11:35 pm

Ekadashi is falling on 14th December in Uday Tithi, so fasting and worshiping on this day will be beneficial.

Parana of the fast- on 15th December from 07:05 in the morning, 

Till 09 o'clock in the morning.

Wake up early in the morning and take bath. Clean the temple of the house and sanctify the temple and the surrounding area with Gangajal. Bath all the deities in the temple and wear clean clothes. Light a lamp in front of God. Offer flowers and basil to Lord Vishnu. If possible, keep fast on this day. Offer offerings to Shri Hari. Keep in mind that only sattvik things should be offered to God. It is believed that Lord Vishnu does not accept Bhog without Tulsi. Along with Lord Vishnu, Goddess Lakshmi should also be worshiped on this day. After worship, do aarti and pray to God.

According to the legend, there was a king named Vaikhanas in Gokul in ancient times. One night in his dream he saw his father suffering the tortures of hell after his death. Seeing such condition of his father, the king was very sad. The next day he called the Raj Purohit and asked the way of his father's salvation. On this the priest said that only Trikaldarshi Mahatma whose name is mountain can solve the problem. After this the king went to the ashram of Parvat Mahatma. There the king asked the mountain mahatma the way of his father's liberation. On this the Mahatma said that his father had committed a sin in his previous life. Because of this they are suffering the torments of Hell. After this the king asked the way to get rid of this sin. On this, the Mahatma asked to fast and worship Mokshada Ekadashi on the Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Margashirsha month. Also said that your father will get salvation by this fast. After this the king fasted and worshiped Mokshada Ekadashi. Due to the virtuous effect of this fast and worship, the king's father got salvation and the liberated soul blessed the king.
