List of Essential “Pooja Samagri” for Janmashtami

In 2021 Krishna Janmashtami will be celebrated on Monday, 30th August. Like every year devotees will observe fast, decorate temples, bring the Ladoo Gopal’s idol, anoint him, worship Him with devotion, and then swing him in the cradle. Some necessary items are important for worshipping Shri Krishna. For this reason, we have curated a list of “Pooja Samagri”. Assemble them before the actual pooja so the process of it is completed duly and without any hindrance.

1. Incense stick or Agarbatti/Dhoop Batti
2. Sapt Dahnya or Seven Grains
3. Kusha, Durva, Panchmeva (5 mixed Dry fruits)
4. Gangajal
5. Honey or Sehad
6. Sugar or Shakar
7. Shudh Ghee
8. Curd
9. Milk
10. Seasonal Fruits
11. Sweets or food to offer God (Peda, Butter, Mishri, Malpua, Ladoo, etc)
12. Small Cardamom, Cloves
13.  Molli or Pooja Kalawa
14.  Cologne or It
15. Throne, Bajot or Hammock ( Wooden stool)
16.  5 leaves or Panch Pallav ( Banyan, Gular, Peepal, Mango, Pakar leaves)

20. Herbs ( Jatamansi, Shilajit)

30. Earthen lamp or Deepak, Oil for lighting it
31. Bandhanwar 
32. Tambool ( Paan Ka Beeda with Cloves)

34. Grains ( Rice or Wheat)
35.  Flowers ( Rose and Lotus)
36.  Turmeric knots in a new plate.
37. Coriander seeds, Durva along with Arghya Leaves and other leaves.
38.  To decorate “Jhanki '', miniature of Elephants, Cow, Peacock, Peacock’s feather, Flute, Small Earthen Pots.
