Diwali 2026

Diwali is the festival of lights and happiness and is considered one of the major and sacred festivals in Sanatan Dharm. On the Amavasya of the Kartik month, Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha are worshiped with rituals. According to religious beliefs, the festival of Diwali is considered very beneficial and fruitful, as on this night Goddess Lakshmi comes to earth and resides in the homes of her devotees.

Perform these Special Remedies on Diwali

Kaudi and Gomti Chakra

While worshiping Goddess Lakshmi on Diwali, keep 11 yellow kaudis and some Gomti Chakra. After the puja, tie all these in a clean red cloth and keep them in your safe or the place where you keep money. This remedy is believed to bring financial growth and monetary profits.

Diya and Rangoli at the main entrance

On the evening of Diwali, light a big diya of mustard oil or pure ghee at the main entrance of the house. Make a beautiful rangoli at the main entrance and make footprints coming inwards. This act brings the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi and happiness and prosperity into your house.

Light a Diya under the Peepal tree

On Diwali, go to a nearby temple and light a flour diya (aate ka diya) under a Peepal tree. While lighting a diya, do not look back and return home quietly. This remedy helps complete all the pending work and strengthen the financial situation.

Offering of Lotus Flowers and Makhana

Goddess Lakshmi loves the lotus flower. While worshipping, offer Lotus flowers and Makhana kheer or batasha to Goddess Lakshmi. After the puja, distribute the Prasad among all the members of your family. This brings positive energy and peace to the house.

Light diyas in every corner of the house

No corner of the house should remain in darkness on the night of Diwali. After the puja, light small diyas in every room of the house, balcony, kitchen, and near Tulsi. This removes negative energy and brings the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi.
