According to the calendar, every month includes one Purnima and one Amavasya. The Amavasya that falls in the month of Margashirsha is known as Darsha Amavasya. This year, the Amavasya Tithi will begin on November 19 at 9:43 a.m. and end on November 20 at 12:16 p.m. As the Amavasya tithi is of two days, many people are confused about when to observe it. - Brahma Muhurat: 5:00 AM to 5:54 AM
- Vijay Muhurat: 1:53 PM to 2:35 PM
- Godhuli Muhurat: 5:26 PM to 5:53 PM
- Amrit Kaal: Midnight of 20 November to 2:53 AM
- Nishita Muhurat: 11:40 PM to 12:34 AM
Worship Method (Puja Vidhi) on Darsh Amavasya 2025
- Wake up early during Brahma Muhurat, take a bath, and wear clean clothes.
- Observe fast and place idols or pictures of Lord Shiv and Goddess Parvati on a clean cloth on a platform.
- Sprinkle Gangajal in your home and in the prayer area to remove the negativity.
- Perform the Jalabhishek of Shiv and Parvati.
- Offer milk, flowers, fruits, bhang, and dhatura to the Shivling.
- Offer Solah Shringar to Goddess Parvati
- Light a diya to worship Lord Shiv and chant the “Om Namah Shivaya” mantra. Offer prayers to Chandra Dev as well.
- Recite "Shiva Chalisa" and ask for forgiveness of your mistakes.
