Since this is a partial lunar eclipse, its Sutak period will not be valid. But the special thing about this eclipse is that it will be the longest partial lunar eclipse of this century. This eclipse will start around 11:30 in the morning and will last till 05:33 in the evening.

The demons who were fascinated by his form agreed, but the demon named Swarbhanu understood the trick of Lord Vishnu and changed his form and sat with the gods. The Moon and the Sun sitting in the line of the deities recognized him and told Lord Vishnu about it.

Then Lord Vishnu got angry and severed the torso and head of the demon with the Sudarshan Chakra. Since the demon had drunk a few drops of nectar, he does not die and becomes angry and takes the sun and the moon as his grasp. In this way, they stop appearing for some time. Since during this time, the deities are in pain to free themselves from the demon, hence solar and lunar eclipses are considered inauspicious in religion and astrology. The head of this demon is called Rahu and the trunk is called Ketu.
