On this day, wake up early, take a bath, and wear red-coloured attire, as it symbolises passion and love, and this is also the most preferred colour of Chunri, which is offered to the Goddess.
After that, clean the temple, sprinkle Gangajal and install an idol or picture of the Maa Katyayani. Light a diya with ghee in front of the Goddess and offer vermillion (Sindoor), akshat, and flowers, especially roses.
Offering Bhog of honey to the Goddess is considered auspicious, as it symbolises prosperity and power.
During the worship, recite the Durga Chalisa or the Durga Saptashati. Then complete the rituals by performing Aarti and distributing Prasad.
