The Harsiddhi Temple in Ujjain is considered one of the most ancient temples, dating back approximately 2,000 years. Legend has it that the Harsiddhi Temple in Ujjain is the Shaktipeeth where Sati's elbow fell. It is also said that King Vikramaditya worshipped Harsiddhi as his family deity...
...and revered goddess. Worship at this temple fulfills desires and provides relief from all obstacles.
- The sanctum sanctorum houses three idols: Annapurna at the top, Harsiddhi in the middle, and Mata Kalka at the bottom. There are two pillars on which lamps are lit. Worshiping Harsiddhi in Ujjain is considered to be worshiping both Shiva and Shakti. This is because it is the site of the courts of Mahakal and Maa Harsiddhi.
- According to legend, Mata Harsiddhi visits the Harsiddhi Temple in Harsad village, Gujarat, in the morning and returns to the Ujjain Temple in the evening for rest. Therefore, the evening aarti here holds special significance. Worshiping Mata Harsiddhi is believed to bestow all kinds of siddhis. Therefore, devotees come here during Navratri to perform the ritual.
