The festival of Dev Deepawali is a celebration of the gods' victory over the demons. According to mythological beliefs, Kartik Purnima, also known as Dev Deepawali, is said to be the day when Lord Shiva defeated the demons by killing the demon Tripurasura. Following this, the gods celebrated by lighting lamps, and this is why Kartik Purnima is known as Dev Deepawali.
