Every auspicious worship done in the month of Sawan is successful. According to the belief, Lord Shiva lives on earth during the month of Sawan. During this holy time, worship done on Shivling is fruitful. Mahadev is also called the lord of snakes. All snakes are the great devotees and obedient of Lord Shiva.
