Description

Darsh Amavasya

  • Darsh Amavasya is considered a highly auspicious and sacred day in Sanatan Dharma. This occasion holds special significance for Pitru Tarpan, charity, and spiritual practices. It is believed that religious and charitable acts performed on this day help seek the blessings of ancestors (Pitrs) and bring happiness, peace, and prosperity into one's life.

Darsh Amavasya Puja

  • On the sacred occasion of Darsh Amavasya, MyJyotish is organizing a grand Ganga Aarti and Brahmin Bhoj at Har Ki Pauri, Haridwar. The ceremony will include the worship of Maa Ganga, Deepdaan (offering of lamps), and special prayers and rituals. As part of the event, Brahmins will be offered food and Dakshina with devotion and respect.

Significance of Ganga Aarti and Brahmin Bhoj

  • In Sanatan Dharma, Ganga Aarti and Brahmin Bhoj hold great religious and spiritual importance. Maa Ganga is revered as the bestower of Moksha (liberation) and the remover of sins. Therefore, offering prayers and participating in Ganga Aarti is believed to bring spiritual peace, divine blessings, and sacred merit (Punya).
  • Similarly, Brahmin Bhoj is regarded as an important act of charity, service, and Dharma. According to traditional beliefs, offering food to Brahmins with devotion pleases the deities and ancestors (Pitra), bringing happiness, peace, and prosperity to the family. Organizing Ganga Aarti and Brahmin Bhoj on a sacred occasion like Darsh Amavasya is considered especially meritorious and spiritually rewarding.

Temple

Haridwar is made up of two words, Har + Dwar, here Har means Shri Hari Vishnu Ji. According to beliefs, it is said that Lord Vishnu's foot had landed on Har Ki Pauri, so it is called Har Ki Pauri. Apart from this, Haridwar is one of those 4 holy pilgrimages, where a drop of Amrit fell. Haridwar is also the place from where the holy river Ganga flows. All these qualities make this pilgrimage more sacred.
