On the occasion of Chaturdashi Tithi of Pitru Paksha, a special Shraddh ritual is being organized by Myjyotish on the Ganga River of Haridwar for the ancestors who had a sudden death. According to Vedic traditions, Chaturdashi Tithi of Pitru Paksha is dedicated to those departed souls who died at a young age or under some accident or unusual circumstances. Shraddh and Tarpan performed on this date provide salvation and peace to the disturbed souls.
Chaturdashi Shraddh Ritual
- Chaturdashi Shraddh is performed when a family member died due to sudden death, accident, or unnatural causes on Chaturdashi Tithi instead of performing Shraddh on normal dates. Ritual Includes
- Resolution of the name and clan of the deceased family member.
- Special worship of Maa Ganga.
- Tarpan with Kush, black sesame seeds, and Gangajal.
- Special worship by offering Pind daan.
- Offering of food, fruits, and donations to the ancestors.
- Chanting of Vedic mantras for disturbed souls.
- Lighting a diya in the evening.
- Special prayer for happiness and peace in the family.
