Navratri 2021: Know the importance and worship of Maa Kaalratri, the seventh form of Durga

Saptami or the seventh day of Navratri is of Goddess Kaalratri. As per legends she sacrificed her skin color and embraced a dark complexion to kill demons. She is a four-armed deity who rides a donkey, carries a sword, a trident, and a noose. She has a third eye on her forehead that is believed to contain the entire universe. On the 7th day of Navratri maa Kalratri is worshiped. There is a law to worship Maa Kalratri on the seventh day of Durga Puja. On this day the mind of the seeker remains situated in the 'Sahasrara chakra. For this, the door of all the achievements of the universe starts opening. Goddess Kalatri is regarded as one of the many destructive forms of Mother Goddess - Kali, Mahakali, Bhadrakali, Bhairavi, Rudrani, Chamunda, Chandi and Durga. Raudri and Dhumorna are other lesser known names of Devi Kalatri. It is believed that this form of the goddess destroys all the demons, ghosts, phantoms, demons and negative energies, which flee from her arrival.

Who is Maa Kaalratri?
Maa Kalratri is one of the 9 forms of Goddess Durga, the color of Maa Kalratri is of Krishna color, due to black color she is called Kalratri. Maa Kalratri with four arms holds a dagger and an iron thorn in both her left hands respectively. Maa Durga had created Maa Kalratri with her brilliance to kill Raktabeej, the king of Asuras.

On the seventh day of Shardiya Navratri, remember Maa Kalratri after retiring from bath etc., then offer Naivedya of Akshat, incense, scent, flowers, and jaggery to the mother with reverence. Worship Method: On the seventh day of Navratri, after retiring from bath in the morning, wear clean clothes. Then worship Maa Kalratri according to the law. Offer incense, incense, scent, night flowers and jaggery naivedya to the goddess methodically. Now do Durga Aarti. After this, donate to Brahmins, this will protect you from accidental troubles. Do not keep your head open during the aarti and worship of Maa Kalratri. At the time of worship, keep a clean handkerchief etc. on the head. Apart from this, on the day of Saptami, the goddess is worshiped with special rituals at night.
