On the day of Basant Panchami (Vasant Panchami), Goddess Saraswati is worshipped, and it is believed that without her blessings, students cannot concentrate on their studies, which is why Saraswati Puja is organised in schools and colleges on this day. Children collect donations, install an idol of Goddess Saraswati, and decorate the pandal or temples. They also bring their books and pens and place them at the feet of the goddess to receive her blessings. The festival of Saraswati Puja is celebrated for two to three days. Various fruits and vegetables are offered to Goddess Saraswati, and she is adorned with sixteen types of ornaments. People visit the pandal, offer prayers to the goddess, and ask for her guidance towards success in life. Two days later, the idol of the goddess is immersed (Visarjan). During the visarjan, devotees chant the name of Goddess Saraswati and carry her idol to a sacred river. While performing visarjan, devotees pray for her quick return and shower flowers as they immerse the idol in the river.
